Giving, Not Getting

The time has come,” He said. “The kingdom of God is near. (Mark 1:15)

The entire month of August it has been incredible to see God’s revelation of what worship in spirit and truth looks like for an individual, a church family, and the kingdom. If you got caught up in the crazy ‘back to school’ schedule and were not around to hear the messages in August, let me encourage you to listen online and catch up. God used five different messengers this month to convey His truth on worship, proving its not about the messenger, but the message.

As a quick review, Matt Shepperd shared that we can all be a part of changing our world for Christ as we live for Him and His plan daily. God then opened up our eyes to the fact that worship takes place in every aspect of our lives as we connect the dots of His daily activity in our everyday life. Ivy Iverson then encouraged us to give God worth as we gather and celebrate Him corporately as we share the experiences of His activity in our lives weekly. We then heard from our East Asia and Guatemala partners as they connected the dots of God’s activity across the world with our ‘one anothers.’

In the coming weeks, we will look at connecting the dots for others in our sphere of influence who do not see God’s activity in their lives. They aren’t able to worship, because they don’t see Him at work daily. Our call is to introduce them to the kingdom that is ‘near’ and ‘around them’ in everyday life. The first Sunday in September, we’ll put our worship into service as we come together with a Worship Project to bless the owners of Doubles! That next Sunday we’ll worship through reflection and remembrance as we take the Lord’s Supper together. Get caught up on all that God is revealing as He builds this foundation of worship!

Love ya'll -
